Often wary of trends, due to their ephemeral nature I generally steer clear of outfitting with trend pieces unless I am in absolute adoration. These instances are becoming not so few and far between as the fashion cycle is accelerated with every season, but I have found with careful selection it is simple to be trendy without having an excess of unnecessary pieces that never truly see the light of day.
My formula consists of either a) not being able to stop thinking about a piece and hence picturing it with several staple pieces or b) it having some kind of component that ties it to being a staple piece. Take the 'True Beauty Rose Scando Jeans' (pictured above) from MinkPink's new disney inspired collection, the 'Moto Floral Embroidered Mom Jeans' by Topshop or if you're ready to take the trend plunge the 'Emerson Slim Boyfriend Jean' by Citizens of Humanity. Each pair of jeans has a staple quality, through the cut and material, but inject just enough uniqueness to fall within the trend category meaning the longevity of each garment is increased (in terms of trendiness alone), as while embroidery may be a trend that comes and goes but as we know denim jeans will always be here to stay.
