Winter in Sydney is a confusing season; two days ago I was teeth-chattering in three layers, last night I was bare legged with just a leather jacket shrugged over my shoulders. You may only experience one season in a day, but all four in a week. Hence you may find receiving a strange look for wearing an over sized coat the norm on any given winter day. I think this is because we're all in perpetual denial that Sydney experiences any form of cold weather.
There's not much I love more than a large, over-sized winter coat but even I have to admit there's a time and a place for everything and on a sunny winter day even my much loved Coat seen above is a little OTT. How I combat this? Well for one this coat is bomb and so you should be staring at it but two wearing an unseasonably fresh garment underneath like a slip dress I feel counteracts the thickness of a coat. The look above has been my go-to this winter, I love mixing up more formal pieces with casual elements like white sneakers and who can deny that Camel is the colour of the season for all our neutral loving friends.
