Classic frames, just like a fragrance can be locked down for life. When you find a style you love it's hard not to constantly be drawn to the same kind over and over again. Magazines and the like throw around terms like shopping or makeup for your face shape, a heart, oval, square - who honestly knows what they are. And while I'm sure I most likely fit into an oval categorised face I honestly question some of the styles I am so confidently told I will suit. My preference is to find frames that suit me in both terms of shape but also the style they evoke. I have frames that are rectangular with bridging, gold-framed hexagons, and cherry red wayfarers just to name a few. My point being that sunglasses are as interchangeable as clothes and there is definitely no reason to avoid a style because a stranger has told you it won't suit you.
This time around I opted for one of the most classic styles I have ever owned, the Céline Frida in Black c/o Vision Direct in black. A little bigger then what I'm used to but this is definitely to their benefit, oozing the perfect Anna Wintour vibes that only a certain frame pertains to. My first pair of Céline frames I purchased in Paris almost two years ago, the Bridge style in black (no surprises) which is a style I will forever love due to them being just out of the ordinary enough without being kitsch.
